UK deep-sea specialist acquired for EUR470 million 

20.03.2012  + + +  Siemens is to take over the Connectors and Measurements Division of Expro Holdings UK, a company specializing in the oil and gas industry. The unit engineers and manufactures subsea components such as cable connectors, sensors and measuring devices under the trade names Tronic and Matre. Tronic stands for electrical connectors that enable both power transmission and communication on subsea installations. Under Matre a wide range of temperature and pressure sensors for subsea use is marketed. This equipment forms a crucial part of the power grid that Siemens is currently developing for use on the sea bed at depths of down to 3,000 meters. 

In calendar year 2011, the Expro division booked sales of about 90 million euros and currently has a workforce of about 450 people in the United Kingdom, Norway, the United States, Brazil and Malaysia ... more

of Statoil Frame Contract for Subsea Services

06.01.2012 + + + Technip was awarded the last option for the Statoil frame contract for diving, pipeline repair, contingency and modification services. The frame contract has been held by Technip since January 2007 and is now extended to the latest possible completion date of December 2014. The yearly revenue under the contract is expected to be in the range of €50-80 million. This contract is an exclusive agreement for all diving and diver assisted operations offshore for Statoil. Siemens Energy ships 100th SGT-300 industrial gas turbine

Siemens opens subsea technology center in Norway

On September 1, Siemens Energy opened its new subsea technology center in Trondheim, Norway. Siemens has invested more than EUR10 million in the refurbishment of a building in which new process equipment will be developed and manufactured. The new facility covering an area of 10,000 square meters will be the global research and development center for the company’s subsea oil and gas business. To date, Siemens has created about 250 new jobs. “This new facility is another major step toward becoming the leading developer of subsea power grid solutions. GSP extends its fleet with two more offshore drilling rigs

 

30.08.2011 + + + GSP announces its drilling fleet has been extended up to seven offshore mobile drilling rigs and a modular one. GSP Britannia (ex. Britannia) and GSP Fortuna (ex. G.H. Galloway) entered GSP’s fleet in August. GSP Fortuna is an ABS class three legged independent leg cantilever jack-up rig reaching the maximum drilling depth of 25.000 ft and the maximum water depth of 300 ft. Linde signs partnership agreement for a Floating Liquefied Natural Gas facility

08.07.2011  + + +  The Linde Group’s Engineering Division and project partner SBM Offshore have signed a partnership agreement with PTT FLNG Limited and PTTEP Australasia for the development of a Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) facility in the Timor Sea off Northern Australia. 
The project is planned to produce LNG from three gas field groups including Cash/Maple, Oliver and Southern fields. Preliminary studies have started in March 2011. Assumed that the gas resources being found meet expectations, the project will enter into front-end engineering and design studies by the end of 2011. Gazprom outlines plans for Russian offshore fields
20.04.2011  + + +   Gazprom’s board has approved a program for development of hydrocarbon resources on the Russian continental shelf through 2030. The company's management committee was asked to deliver a performance report in late 2012. Gazprom says over 80% of the hydrocarbon resources are concentrated in the Barents, Pechora and Kara seas, and the Sea of Okhotsk. Gas and condensate volumes are most prevalent in the Barents and Kara seas. Oil is the main resource in the Pechora Sea, while volumes are split between oil and gas in the Sea of Okhotsk. RWE Dea Norge milestone: Production from the Gjøa field comes on stream

10.11.2010 + + + The Gjøa oil, natural gas and condensate field in Norway went into production. It is currently the biggest field development project in the Norwegian North Sea. The licence was awarded in July 1988, and the discovery was made the following year. After 22 years of work, the first gas and oil from Gjøa has now started to flow. Aker Solutions: Ormen Lange subsea compressor taking shape
30.08.2010 + + + Initial work on the pilot subsea compressor station for the Ormen Lange development is nearing completion, according to a presentation by Aker Solutions at ONS. Compression will be needed at the giant gas field in the Norwegian Sea as reservoir performance declines. Development operator Statoil is investigating the feasibility of performing this function on the seabed, as a lower-cost alternative to a compressor platform. Aker Solutions has constructed the pilot station at its new subsea test and assembly hall in Egersund, Norway.
