Loher / Siemens: Full range of explosion-proof motors in efficiency class IE2

23.05.2011 + + + The Loher Chemstar motor series is now available in efficiency class IE2 "High Efficiency" for all types
of explosion protection Ex n, Ex e and Ex de. Thanks to their chemical-
resistant paint finish and the electroplated fan cowl, the low-voltage asynchronous motors are especially suited to
applications in the chemicals and petrochemical sectors as well as in the oil and gas industry.
They can be supplied in the standard rated voltages 230/400 V, 400/690 V and 500V. The basic version also features the higher degree of protection IP56, giving it greater protection from water. This means that it meets most of the technical specifications in heavy industry. Motor versions up to IP66 are possible where protection requirements are greater. The standard option package has been expanded to include extra options such as anti-condensation heating and now features enhanced connection systems and excellent noise levels in order to meet additional project-specific requirements. The motors are available with ratings of between 0.25 kW and 315 kW and shaft heights between 71 and 355. The documentation is already available during the engineering phase, which saves time and money. Loher Chemstar motors have all the required explosion protection systems and are extremely cost-efficient thanks to low energy consumption, reduced operating costs and long service intervals. In type of explosion protection Ex n und Ex de, they are certified across the board also in IEC Ex.

      About Loher GmbH

Loher drives are used worldwide in both low- and high-voltage design in oil & gas, the process and petrochemical industries, mines, marine applications on deck of ships and sub-sea as well as in elevators and escalators. Since decades Loher playes a leading role when it comes to explosion protected drives. Loher also is one of the leading manufacturers for environmentally friendly applications such as generators using wind and tidal power. All the activities of the group for electronic speed control of three-phase motors are concentrated within the Electronic Drive Systems Division. The production program consists of frequency inverters from 2.2 kW to 6600 kW as well as voltage-controlled units for the monitoring of motors. Loher is highly specialized in electrical drive technology and part of Siemens AG.
