TAP Awards Two Contracts for Italy Onshore Construction

Dec 22, 2015  + + +   Trans Adriatic Pipeline AG (TAP) has awarded a contract for the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) of the Pipeline Receiving Terminal (PRT) and a contract for the EPC of the onshore pipeline in Italy (8-kilometre, 36-inch diameter).

The joint venture comprised of Enereco S.p.a. and Max Streicher S.p.a. has been awarded the contract for the onshore pipeline in Italy, which will connect the project offshore section at the landfall with the PRT.

Renco S.p.a. has been awarded the contract for the Pipeline Receiving Terminal, which is the final element connecting TAP to the Snam Rete Gas network. In addition to receiving natural gas, the PRT will also host the Supervisory Control Centre (SCC).

Ian Bradshaw, Managing Director at TAP, said: “Congratulations to Renco S.p.a. as well as the Enereco S.p.a. and Max Streicher S.p.a. joint venture for their strong bids, which best met our high technical standards and health, safety and environmental criteria. I also want to thank all companies who participated in this rigorous tendering round. In addition to further securing local employment, we hope this appointment will help boost indirect benefits and investment in Italy.”

Renco S.p.A., an Italian company founded in 1979, provides a wide variety of services including engineering and construction for energy, oil & gas and civil infrastructures sectors.

Enereco is an engineering company, established in 1988. The technological skills of the company’s multidisciplinary teams cover the design of plants and infrastructures for production and transportation in the energy field. Max Streicher S.p.a. is the Italian subsidiary of Streicher Group. The team has a well-established position in the pipeline and plant construction sector in Italy, including work on major oil and gas projects with Snam Rete Gas and ENI’s Group.

This year TAP has awarded several contracts: construction and rehabilitation of access roads and bridges in Albania (April 2015), large diameter ball valves and actuators (July 2015), turbo compressors (September 2015), fittings, isolating joints and scraper traps (October 2015), 270km onshore line pipe and bends (October 2015) as well as 495km of onshore line pipes (November 2015).
