The electrical slip ring, also known as rotary electrical joint, collector or electric swivel, is an essential device which facilitates the supply of power, the transmission of electrical signals from DC to High Frequency as well as microwave, Databus-signals, optical signals as well as media (compressed air, cooling fluids and other) from a rotating to a stationary plane. Obviously the quality of the slip ring is a key determinant in the quality of the overall system.
