MAK685
and NMB heavy-duty couplings - the new series of magnetic couplings for
API 685-compliant process pumps
The
universal modular coupling concept for pumps - as initial equipment or
retrofitted - is based on the proven MAK66 series and available with a
choice of two solenoid variants, namely the samarium-cobalt version for
applications involving operating temperatures of up to 350 °C and the
neodymium-iron-boron version for temperatures up to a maximum 120 °C.
This means that the size of each coupling can be optimally matched to the
requisite operating conditions and performance requirements. Attractive
pricing enables cost-effective sealing solutions of the very highest
technical quality. The
circulation of the product-lubricated friction bearing is separate from
the can's cooling flow. This gives the friction bearing enhanced
efficiency of operation, even in applications involving low-viscosity
media, and a combination with coolable or heatable bearings is possible.
Where gas-bearing media are concerned, the gas content is efficiently led
away from the can compartment via a hollow shaft, thereby ensuring that
the friction bearing is not subject to any dry running. The
NMB heavy-duty coupling extends the application range of magnetically
coupled pumps up to a driving power of 300 kW while ensuring optimum
efficiency at the same time. The patented can technology reduces eddy
currents by up to 95% and in doing so enables considerable savings in
terms of costs. The
