TMK Premium Connection Successfully Tested for Horizontal Well Applications
TMK, one of the world’s top three oil and gas pipe producers, today announces that its TMK-GF premium casing connection series was successfully tested for horizontal oil and gas well applications.
TMK-Premium Service, a division of TMK specialising in the production and supply of premium connections to the oil and gas sector, tested the high-performance GF casing connection series at Novatek’s Sterkhovoye field in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Region.
Produced at TMK’s TAGMET R&D centre, the TMK-GF connections encountered pressures of 190 atmospheres during casing operations in the well and retained excellent gas tightness under high bending loads.
TMK-GF is a Premium connection with extra gas tightness properties used for the construction and operation of highly-deviated and horizontal wells and especially designed for application in corrosive environments. As demonstrated during testing, its metal-to-metal seal offered excellent gas tightness, even under the most severe stresses, and seal integrity was maintained even after numerous make-ups and break-outs.
