ТМК Large-Diameter Longitudinal Pipes ... News in June 2009

Tested at Gazprom Test Site

TMK, one of the world’s leading oil and gas pipes producers, announces today that it successfully conducted pneumatic tests on Volzhsky large-diameter longitudinal pipe at Gazprom’s Kopeisk test site in the Chelyabinsk Region.

The X80 longitudinal welded 1420 mm pipes with 23 mm wall thickness underwent fracture testing under 13 MPa (133 at) pressure. The test results were submitted to Gazprom’s Permanent Commission on new types of pipes used in the construction and operation of high-pressure 11.8 MPa (120 at) gas transmission pipelines.

The tests were carried out within the framework of the Scientific and Technical Cooperation Programme between TMK and Gazprom. (June 29, 2009)

TMK Supplies ESPO Pipeline Spur to China

TMK, one of the world's largest oil and gas pipe producers and the market leader of the Russian pipe industry, announces today that it began shipments of longitudinal welded large-diameter pipes for the Russian part of the Eastern Siberia–Pacific Ocean (ESPO) oil pipeline spur to China.

The pipes, manufactured at TMK’s Volzhsky plant, will be used to construct the ESPO pipeline spur from the town of Skovorodino to the Amur River on the Sino-Russian border.

During the second and third quarters of 2009, TMK will supply a total of 10,300 tonnes of large-diameter pipes with diameters of 530mm to 1420mm, wall thickness ranging from 5mm to16mm and of K52 and K56 grades to Transneft contractor, Promstroy Group.

The ESPO pipeline system will transport Russian crude oil to the Asia-Pacific markets. The 4,700 kilometre long pipeline will run from the town of Taishet to the Kozmino export terminal on Russia's Pacific coast

The 1,030 kilometre-long Russia-China ESPO pipeline spur will span from Skovorodino, Russia to China's north-eastern city of Daqing. Running 67 km in Russia and 960 km in China, the pipeline is expected to transport 15 million tonnes of crude oil annually from Russia to China. (June 03, 2009)

TMK Supplies the Central Karakum-Yylanly Pipeline

TMK, one of the world's leading producers of oil and gas pipes, announces today that it began shipments of longitudinal welded large-diameter pipes to Turkmengaz State Concern for the Central Karakum-Yylanly compressor station pipeline.

More than 28,000 tonnes of 720mm K55 pipe with 8mm wall thickness will be shipped between May and August 2009. The pipes will be delivered with external anticorrosion coating, which improves reliability and increases lifespan.

The pipeline will run from the Central Karakum gas deposit to the Yylanly compressor station in the Dashoguz province, connecting gas fields in Turkmenistan's desert region with the republic’s network and the Central Asia-Center gas pipeline system. TMK was chosen as sole supplier of pipes for this project. (June 01, 2009
