With Process Intelligence advanced signal processing, SITRANS LR250 is the new ideal plug-and-play continuous radar level measurement solution from Siemens. This 2-wire, 25 GHz continuous radar level transmitter is so easy to install and configure that you can accurately and reliably measure the level of liquids or slurries in minutes.

The small horn allows installation in existing openings and the concentrated high frequency beam ensures interference from vessel walls is minimal. A high frequency and narrow transmission pulse means the complete vessel capacity can be measured. The SITRANS LR250’s polyester powder-coated aluminum enclosure, encapsulated electronics, glass antenna seal and optional Hastelloy^® antenna material make it ideal for chemical, pharmaceutical and hydrocarbon processing applications, including corrosive environments.

The multilingual Quick Start Wizard guides you to program the transmitter using a few parameters, and has the SITRANS LR250 measuring in minutes. The transmitter can be programmed without opening the lid and consequently exposing the electronics to aggressive atmospheres via the intrinsically safe infrared handheld programmer or remotely via SIMATIC PDM using HART^®. The new graphical local user interface (LUI) displays echo profiles and diagnostic information allowing the user to determine what is happening in the tank at a glance. The SITRANS LR250 includes self-diagnostic features that are communicated to the local display and across networks.

Siemens’ Process Intelligence signal processing evaluates dynamic echo signals. It applies algorithms (based on field data collected from over one million level measurement applications) to raw echoes to produce accurate and reliable level measurement readings. It can automatically ignore obstructions and is the processor behind the more advanced features such as diagnostic tools, Quick Start Wizard and Auto False-Echo Suppression. It also significantly improves the measurement accuracy in the low level of vessels containing low dielectric media.
