Turkmen Neftegaz (TKNF), the Turkmenistani state oil company, has concluded a comprehensive service contract for the largest refinery in the country with the After Sales Service section of MAN TURBO AG Switzerland. The contract will run for two years and provides for an extension option. The refinery has been running since 2001 in Turkmenbashi, which is situated near the Caspian Sea.

The scope of supply includes the continuous monitoring and maintenance of 32 turbomachinery trains. These units, which operate in the decisive areas of the refinery, are the key components in the various production processes. High levels of reliability and availability are therefore vital for ensuring the problem-free and economically efficient operation of the plant.

A further contractual responsibility for the MAN TURBO specialists is the training of local personnel in the demanding task of maintenance work. In addition, an integral plant information system is to be installed in liaison with the customer. This system will ensure constant monitoring of the key processes. Additional management systems are also to be developed for other subsections of the refinery in order to create suitable strategies for optimising maintenance procedures.

MAN TURBO machinery and systems enjoy a very good reputation throughout the Caspian region. Over the past few years dozens of machine trains have gone into operation, which underlines the strong economic growth in the region, particularly in the oil and gas market segments.
