The Linde Group receives engineering order for the extension of the natural gas processing facility Kollsnes, Norway

The engineering division of The Linde Group has received an order from the Norwegian oil company Statoil ASA for the engineering services of the Kollsnes Gas Network Extension project, Norway.

The Kollsnes Gas Network Extension project comprises an additional dew point control train and two additional sales gas compressor trains of 33 million Nm3/d capacity each for the natural gas landing onshore at Kollsnes as well as associated auxiliary facilities. The total natural gas export capacity of the Kollsnes site will thereby be increased to 183 million Nm3/d.

“With this order Linde is continuing its long lasting and successful cooperation with one of its most important customers in the natural gas processing plants market segment”, states Dr Aldo Belloni, member of the executive board of The Linde Group and responsible for the division Engineering.  “With this award Linde is well positioned for the tendering of the subsequent turnkey contract covering the supply of the plant, a project estimated to be in the triple digit million Euro range.”

In addition to submitting a competitive offer, a crucial factor for awarding this order was Linde´s  outstanding performance in executing the Kollsnes gas separation plant project, for which Statoil ASA placed an EPC order with Linde in 2001.

The extension of the Kollsnes facility is of strategic importance to Germany. As recently agreed upon between Chancellor Merkel and the Norwegian Prime Minister Stoltenberg, the extension of Kollsnes will allow Germany to receive more natural gas from Norway in the future.

The Linde Group is a world leading industrial gases and engineering company with more than 53,000 employees working in around 70 countries worldwide. Following the acquisition of The BOC Group the company has gases and engineering sales of approximately 12 billion euro. The strategy of  The Linde Group is geared towards earnings-based growth and focuses on the expansion of its international business with forwardlooking products and services.
