New topcoats from Hempel excel in benefits

Hempel’s third generation of polysiloxane epoxy hybrid enamels are called The Hempaxane Family. They deliver improved performance, superior gloss and colour retention, and they are more durable compared to previous product generations. Other benefits for these new products include:

- High gloss & high solids decorative coating
- Protective finishing coat with internal flexibilisers
- Twice as hard & durable as previous generations
- More resistant to impacts and abrasions
- Low dft & faster drying version
- Less coating & application time
- Chemical resistant & easy to clean
- Withstands severely corrosive conditions
- Isocyanate free & low HAPs (Hazardous Air Pollutants)
- Cures down to 0 centigrade for wide application capability

New Classic and Light version

The Hempaxane Family now has two new products. Hempaxane Classic 55000 is an improved version of Hempaxane 55000. The second new product in the family is Hempaxane Light 55030, a lighter dft (dry film thickness) version. The “Light” version provides savings benefits with less coating required, less application and drying time while still giving excellent protection in highly corrosive conditions.

Examples of ideal application scenarios where these benefits are most needed are chemical and petrochemical plants, bridges, airports, offshore platforms and wind power plants.

Twice as durable and flexible

Polysiloxane topcoats already provide extraordinary properties. This third generation of improved technology in The Hempaxane Family is the incorporation of internal flexibilisers in the binder structure which make them twice as durable and flexible as competitive products. The products  excel in abrasion and impact resistance, adhesion, elongation, and are resistant to cyclic ageing, water vapour permeability and internal stress.

Environmental profile

The Hempaxane Family is free of hazardous isocyanates and lead, and has low HAPs (Hazardous Air Pollutants). They are compliant with VOC & EU regulations which are pro-environment and a better proposition for all.
