Germanischer Lloyd acquires Trident Consultants
Kuala Lumpur / Hamburg, 5 May 2008 - Germanischer Lloyd (GL) continues
expanding its Industrial Services. From now on Trident Consultants, a
global engineering consultancy based in Kuala Lumpur, is part of the
Germanischer Lloyd Group. "With Trident Consultants we extend our range
of services in the oil and gas sector significantly," explains Pekka
Paasivaara, Member of GL's Executive Board. Previous acquisitions in
Great Britain, Canada and the U.S. in the last nine months have
strengthened the technical portfolio of Germanischer Lloyd considerably.
The scope of Trident Consultants' capabilities comprises application in
areas such as oil & gas operation and production, petrochemical,
utilities, and environmental sectors. The company specialises in the
management of risks to operations and from operating systems to people,
the environment, asset revenue and reputation. Services include
technical risk management, process validation, flow assurance,
reliability, availability and maintainability (RAM) and process
troubleshooting. Its health, safety and environmental services cover the
full range from health and safety auditing to development of detailed
Quantitative Risk Assessments and Environmental Impact Assessments.
Trident Consultants was formed in 1982 to provide consultancy in process
engineering and safety to the onshore and offshore oil and gas and
process industries. The company has a staff of 75 professional engineers
and scientists working around the world, providing consultancy in the
control of risks to people, the environment, assets, revenue and
reputation arising out of the operation of engineered systems.

and inspection, independent design verification, as well as risk-based
inspections and condition surveys of production facilities both onshore
