BARTEC Wins 2007 Innovation Award of the
German Industry
Mobile Computer with WLAN technology
Convinces Expert Jury
The innovative power and the keen sense for new products and new
applications at BARTEC have been rewarded. With its newly developed Mobile
Computer with WLAN technology, the safety technology provider domiciled in
Bad Mergentheim has won the 2007 Innovation Award of the German Industry
and asserted itself against more than 300 competitors from the industrial
sector.
What convinced the expert jury to award the prize to the Mobile Computer
presented on the Hannover Fair in April 2007 was the fact that computer
technologies such as mobile data acquisition and data processing, which
are standards in non-hazardous areas, are transferred to hazardous areas.
Some other aspects enthusing the jury members were the wireless data
exchange via wireless LAN and the wide variety of possible applications.
This equipment was specifically designed for use in potentially explosive
gas and dust atmospheres of industrial plants.
„We are very pleased that our innovative work has been rewarded with
this award“, said BARTEC chief executive officer Ralph Köster. „As we
see it, it does not only support us to market our latest product
developments but also provides the incentive to keep on asserting
ourselves in the competition for technologies and markets.“
Since 2004, the Innovation Award has been awarded by the “Initiative
Mittelstand” (initiative for medium-sized businesses) for the field of
information technology. Since 2006, it has also been awarded for the
industrial sector. With this prize, an independent jury consisting of
experts and specialized journalists appreciates innovative products and
services providing especially high usefulness and high functionality.
